AIBUDO
Aibudo was created by Dennis Wissler and has a foundation of the former martial art of Bojuka Ryu with a background that includes Chito Ryu Karate, Kodenkan Jujitsu, Han Moo Kwan Tae Kwan Do, Chinese Kempo, White Crane and Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Weapons are that of the Isshin Ryu System and American Freestyle Karate. There are also included some principles of Aikido and elements of Street Self-Defense.
AIBUDO HISTORY
Dennis Wisslers was training in Bojuka Ryu in Indiana. Around the time that he received his 2nd degree Black Belt, he was informed by his sensei that Bojuka Ryu, as a system, was no longer existent. No one was to continue the system as it was. Mr. Wissler was put into a bad position since he had been teaching Bojuka Ryu in Cambridge City, Indiana. Not knowing what to do, he found an add for IKSA and sent in for more information. On August 1985, he chartered his school with them and this allowed for Aibudo to come about and grow. Since then he has added and deleted techniques based on their usability. The training is supposed to make a student effective after training for only a few weeks. Though Bojuka Ryu is the basic foundation most stances, postures, and techniques have been altered and look different. They have been changed to be a more relaxed for Aibudo believes that patience beats brute force.
