BOJUKA RYU
On 07/16/1970 in Marina California, Bojuka Ryu was born. The name is made up of parts of names for the martial arts that make up the core. BO, refers to boxing from the U.S. and China. JU, stands for the Jui jitsu, mostly Danzan Ryu Koden Kan Jujitsu and otherwise known as Kodenkan Jujitsu. KA, refers to the various Karate arts which it derives techniques from. The Hand arts are brought from Japanese Chito Ryu Karate and Chinese Kempo Karate. The Leg strikes stems from Chito Ryu again and Korean Tae Kwan Do. The Blocking system was developed from White Crane and Praying Mantis Kung Fu.
It is a military art and is considered both hard and soft. It is also a progressive art in which the techniques are constantly updated. Shihan Stewart, Shihan means Master of the Art of Bojuka Ryu, I believe he is the founder of this art and he was credited by the American Jujitsu Institute.
