BUSHIDOKAN KARATE
In the late 1960's Jim Harrison founded the first Bushidokan School in Kansas City, Kansas. He studied Judo and Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate and suppose to be at the top of his league in both. Bushidokan is made up of Judo, Shorin-Ryu Karate, and Jiu Jitsu and wound up with something that resembles Shotokan Karate. It is a very effective street defense. A large part and very important to this system is Physical Conditioning and tournament. To start you learn 7 basic strikes, blocks, and kicks. Most of which is linear with a few circular motions thrown in here and there. A few throws are included, some soft (redirecting) blocks, and a couple wrist and hand locks. There are 2 basic katas to help you train but you are encouraged to learn Shotokan katas also.
