JUKIDO JUJITSU
Jukido Jujitsu is eclectic martial art created by Paul Arel with primary influences of Sanzyuryu Jujitsu, Kodokan Judo and Aiki-Jitsu. It emphasizes safety above all else and some techniques have been modified because they cause harm even in practice. Jukido practices Jushin (centerline theory) with many of its techniques by attacking and controlling opponents on their vertical and horizontal centerlines. Proper Kuzushi (unbalancing) is necessary for almost all techniques in Jukido. In class Ukemi (break falls and roll-outs) are practiced for falling safely. Tachi Waza (formal throwing techniques) and Bunkai (self-defense) are also practiced a lot in class.
Jukidoka also practice Randori (freeform throwing) and Kobudo (weapons). Randori is very good practice for throwing unwilling opponents. Jukido practices offense and defense with and without Sai's, nightsticks, staffs, and long stick. Jukidoka are also trained in defense against firearms.
